I-75 Express Lanes Now Open

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has constructed express lanes along I-75 from north of NW 138 Street, in Miami-Dade County, to I-595, in Broward County. Construction for the express lanes began in August 2014 and the new lanes opened to traffic on March 24, 2018.

The four-lane tolled facility has been constructed in the existing I-75 median, and is separated from the general use lanes by a grass median buffer. The express lanes feature two lanes in each direction, divided by a concrete barrier wall, and also include full width paved shoulders.

The express lanes direct connection ramps for 595 Express and the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike (HEFT) also opened to traffic on March 24, 2018. Please note, construction for several other proposed ramp movements along HEFT will continue into late 2018, early 2019.

The estimated overall construction cost for the I-75 Express Lanes Project is $485 million.
