Current and Upcoming Lane Closures

The public information team will post weekly updates and lane closures/traffic information to help the community get around the construction.

Week of January 18, 2019 to January 25, 2019 

Segments A & B - I-75 from NW 170 Street to South of Miramar Parkway 

Due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday lane closures will be restricted beginning 11:59 p.m. Sunday, January 20 until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, January 21.

  • One northbound and one southbound express lanes from north of Miramar Parkway to south of NW 170 Street will be closed continuously beginning 9 a.m. Thursday, January 17 until 9 a.m. Saturday, January 19.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida’s Turnpike may be closed Friday, January 18 through Sunday, January 19 and Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24. The northbound lane may be closed from 8 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the southbound lane may be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed Friday, January 18 through Sunday, January 19 and Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Snake Creek Canal may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to NW 170 Street may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One ramp lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida’s Turnpike may be closed nightly Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to Florida’s Turnpike on-ramp may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miramar Parkway may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive may be closed nightly Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 at Florida’s Turnpike may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Miami Gardens may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Miami Gardens Drive may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to NW 170 Street may be closed Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • The northbound ramp of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike northbound (EXIT 39) will be closed nightly 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 22 until 5 a.m. Thursday, January 24. During this closure, motorists wishing to take the I-75 northbound ramp from Florida’s Turnpike northbound (Exit 39) will be detoured to exit at US 27/Okeechobee Road (Exit 35), continue south on US 27/Okeechobee Road to NW 138 Street, and east on NW 138 Street to Hialeah Gardens Boulevard to take the northbound entrance ramp to I-75.

Construction Lane Closures/Detours‚Äč

FDOT will make every effort to minimize impacts to motorists on the road, but it will be necessary to close travel lanes at various times and locations to complete the project-related work safely.  The lane closures will be subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances and will be posted regularly for the community.

In general accordance with local noise ordinances, construction activities including demolition, pile driving, and sheet pile driving shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM weekends

Additionally, ground mounted sound barrier wall installation shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday

Tips on Getting Around During Construction

  • Allow For Extra Travel Time – Allow more time to reach your destination due to detours and lane closures

  • Buckle Up - Wearing a safety belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes
  • Pay Close Attention – Signs and work zone flaggers save lives
  • Turn on Your Headlights – Workers and other motorists must see you
  • Don’t Tailgate – Unexpected stops frequently occur in work zones
  • Don’t Speed – Note the posted speed limits in and around the work zone
  • Keep up With the Traffic Flow – Dedicate your full attention to the roadway and those traveling around you
  • Don’t Change Lanes in the Work Zone – The time saved just isn’t worth it
  • Minimize Distractions – Avoid changing radio stations and using cellular phones while driving in the work zone
  • Expect the Unexpected – Keep an eye out for workers and their equipment
  • Be Patient – Remember the work zone crewmembers are working to improve your future ride.
